Chromeleon Xpress: Developing an Application
Manually Developing an Application
Tip:
For application examples and recommended system settings, refer to the manual for the column you will be using. Column manuals are provided on the Dionex Reference Library CD-ROM (P/N 053891), shipped with the column.
Go to each instrument's control panel and select the desired settings for the application.
For example, for a conductivity application, you might follow these steps:
On the Pump panel, select the flow rate, specify the gradient, and turn on the pump flow.
On the Eluent Generator panel, select the eluent concentration and turn on the EGC (eluent generator cartridge). Turn on the CR-TC if one is required for the application.
On the Conductivity Detector panel, select the suppressor current and turn on the suppressor. Select the cell heater temperature. Turn on the heater.
On the Detector Compartment panel, select the compartment and column temperatures and turn on each heater.
Allow the system to equilibrate. Go to the Home panel to view the status of each instrument and the background conductivity reading.
When the system has equilibrated, test the application by running a manual sample (see Manually Running a Sample).
Monitor the detector signal plot during the run. The signal plot is shown on the Status, Detector, and Home panels.
If results are unsatisfactory, modify system settings and rerun the sample.
When the desired results are achieved, create a Program that specifies the system settings (see Creating a Program).
